Why God is Trustworthy

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29   NKJV

Once He has decreed a thing, God does not waver and change his mind like men do. Nor is He temperamental as many of us are, allowing our moods to dictate our actions.

Even when we do things we know we shouldn’t, God is faithful to us. He does not discard us upon some trash heap, but instead draws us to Himself. If He has called us, that calling is without revocation, or as the King James says” without repentance“.

Because He is a keeper of His promises, we can trust Him completely.

Hebrews 6:18 says, “it is impossible for God to lie” (Hebrews 6:18). If he spoke it, then he will carry it out unto completion. Think about that statement; “it is impossible for God to lie“. If we were to say that about ourselves, that in itself would be a lie, wouldn’t it?

Because God always sees things through to completion, we can trust Him completely.

in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,” Titus 1:2    emphasis mine

Before time ever was, God had ordained that those He has called to eternal life will indeed live and reign with Him forever.

Because God has always been and will always be, we can trust Him completely.

God alone is worthy of our complete trust, for what He said He will do will come to pass.

Resting in the sure promises of God this day…..

Be blessed!

Let it go

Sometimes, you just have to let it go and simply trust.

Trust that Someone much bigger than you has it under control.

For most of us, there aren’t too many things more difficult than that.

We just aren’t wired that way. Instead, we’re a people who have to maintain control of the situation.

If you are a get it done, whatever it takes type of person, letting go and putting your faith in,well, faith, is not easy.

Yet this is exactly what God asks of us. He asks that we step back and allow Him to take control of our situations.

That thing that we insist upon having…control….He asks us to relinquish it to Him.

As difficult as that can be, what makes it possible is something that Jesus promised to us.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:27‬ N‭KJV‬‬

Words to live by.

Words of comfort and rest.

Words of assurance that in every situation, we are secure in His love.

Words that remind us that we can trust Him and let it go.

Be blessed!

“I Remember You”

Jeremiah 2:1-2 (NKJV)
1 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 “Go and cry in the hearing of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “I remember you, The kindness of your youth, The love of your betrothal, When you went after Me in the wilderness, In a land not sown.

The Prophet Jeremiah received this word from God concerning the spiritual condition of Israel a little less than 600 years before the birth of Christ. In it the Lord was calling His children to remembrance of a better time,a happier time when Israel was following after the Lord with all of their heart.A time when God had delivered them from slavery and bondage in Egypt and led them out with a mighty deliverance.

So intense was this love between God and Israel that He speaks of it in terms used to describe a marriage. The kindness,or tenderness of their youth, the love that was compared to the deep abiding love between a man and his wife, their pursuing of Him in the wilderness.Israel was young and in love with the Lord, not unlike us when we fall in love.So deep was this love that God was considered the nation’s “husband”.

Yet something sinister has happened to this once inseparable love.Through the passage of time Israel has rejected her “husband” and has taken up after other gods. They no longer needed God for they have long since left the wilderness and have established themselves as a great nation. They have literally forgotten where they came from.Or as I like to say, they have gotten above their raising.

The fall of Israel reads as the most tragic in all of history when you consider that they were the chosen of God.Chosen of Almighty God to receive blessing and favor the likes of which had never been seen before. We cannot fully understand the scope of what has happened to Israel unless we go back and study for ourselves, and I dare say that when we do that we will be stunned at what has happened to this once proud nation.

Beloved, from where I set on the front row I often feel as though I am reliving the pages of biblical history as I see the church of the living God drawing further and further away from Him.Oh,we’re growing in numbers in many places. And we certainly can erect impressive monuments that we call houses of worship. But where are our hearts?Where is the “love of our betrothal”?

From where I set on the front row I see tradition.I see formalities.I see one choreographed  program after another.I see the church succumbing to the great god entertainment.I see an atmosphere of “worship”more commonly found at a rock concert.I see a total lack of respect for the house of God.

I hear the Lord saying “I Remember You”…

Be blessed,

Ron
