Weeping may endure for a night…

But joy comes in the morning!

Weeping and sorrow may compass us about, but joy comes in the morning!

Discouragement and trials may seem to over take us, but joy comes in the morning!

Sickness and afflictions of every sort might be our constant companions, but joy comes in the morning!

Pain may rack these mortal bodies of ours, but joy comes in the morning!

Fear and all it’s torments might confront us on every side, but joy comes in the morning!

Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.  Psalm 30:4,5

No matter what we are going through, it cannot outlast God. I want to say that again: no matter what we are going through, it cannot outlast God!

Many times in my life I have wondered where God was when I was dealing with things that were so much bigger than I. In those times it can be very hard not to put all of your focus on the problems because they can overwhelm the best of us.

All of us want our concerns addressed immediately, for that is our nature. We do not like pain, failure, or disappointments. Christians, especially, seem to have a built in tendency to think that we are somehow exempt from life’s struggles.

Of course, we know that to believe this way only serves to set ourselves up for discouragement when trials and temptations do come upon us.

I believe we would be better served to remember that what we really need to focus on is not how big our struggles are, but rather how big our God is!

The Psalmist David wrote a most comforting Psalm as he was comparing the heritage of God’s people vs. the certain destruction of the wicked. In this Psalm, David declares that while he once was a young man, the years have caught up with him.

Even so, in all of his many years David tells us that he had never seen the righteous forsaken! Think of that beloved. How many of us share David’s testimony? I know I certainly do.

I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.  Psalm 37:25

I have never seen the righteous forsaken. I have never been forsaken! God’s provision has carried me through in times when I could see no way out of a dark situation.

Like the time I had no grocery money and didn’t know where to turn. Only God could have provided in the manner in which He did. Watching a truck back into my driveway with bags and boxes of groceries is something I have never forgotten, and that was over 30 years ago!

If we will hold on to His promises, weeping will come to an end and in it’s place will be joy unspeakable! Hold on to His promises, and watch how God will move on your behalf to provide exactly what you need, exactly when you need it!

Be blessed,

Ron

Fractured

Splintered

Divided

Call it what you will, but America is floundering. In the cesspool of its own ignorance, undone by the deliberate abandonment of the Godly principles that once shone brightly for the entire world to see, we are drowning.

I know, I know. Ouch already!

Slowly, almost imperceptibly so as not to garner attention to the ungodly course she had chartered for herself decades ago, the axe was laid to the root of the tree so that death would not come quickly, but rather so slowly as to be unnoticed by the masses.

Generations of men and women who steadfastly held to the belief that they were free and independent of government intrusion in their personal lives have given way to a new generation that expects, no, demands, that government be their new god, their provider.

Decades of “he who has the most money wins” elections have produced the current crop of leaders who could not lead your grandmother across the street. In spite of this atrocity, we blindly cast our lots with them instead of God. The blind leading the blind!

What breaks my heart is that we are better than this! We know the way! The great travesty in all of this is we know the path to victory, yet we choose to stumble along in our own strength.

We are drunken on the new age Kool-Aid gospel of self importance. “You can be anything you dream,so dream BIG” they proclaim. This man made gospel replaces God with you, as though you were in complete control of your life and not God.

No amount of cheer-leading will make America great again. The fact that America is no longer the nation it once was is not a recent development, although the political elite and network talking heads would have you to believe otherwise. We did not get in this situation over night friends.

Do not misunderstand what I’m saying here. I am not criticizing America per se. I believe this country to be the best place on earth to live and raise a family. I love my country and am proud of its countless accomplishments over the past two and a half centuries.

Truth be told, the entire world has benefited from America’s existence. Actually, several nations owe their very existence to this country. But she has fallen far from the lofty heights of the blessed that she previously enjoyed.

Long forgotten is the scriptural admonition to “come, let us reason together”(Isaiah 1:18). The uplifting words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 2 seem about as likely to happen in America as the mighty Mississippi reversing its course.

1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.   Philippians 2:1,2

From where I sit on the front row, I see an incredible opportunity right now for the church to arise and be THE CHURCH. The CHURCH must be the hands and feet of Jesus to a people wandering in spiritual darkness. To provide something that our government cannot, will not provide: REAL LEADERSHIP.

We the people need to hear from the God of heaven, not the god of this world. We need truth, not another lying politician. We need hope not vain, empty promises. We need encouragement, not more of the same disparaging vitriol.

Yet more than any of those, what we need most is to hear the clarion call to prayer from our church leadership. Pastors all over this land should be on their collective faces in solemn prayer for revival. God let it be so!

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  II Chr. 7:14

God is still God; in spite of what the antichrist-minded puppets of Satan want us to believe. God is still in the forgiveness business, and He has plenty to spare.

Is it too much to ask that we take a good hard look at our hearts and acknowledge that we are arrogant and filled with pride? Per the verse above, does it surprise you to know that this is what God expects of us?

How is it that we do not seem to grasp the seriousness of the hour? Are we truly so blinded by Satan that we cannot see the outstretched hands of Jesus beckoning us to “come unto me”?

We all know the nursery rhyme about a character that sat on the wall. He did well from his lofty perch, yet when he fell, he fell so hard that he could not be put back together again. This simple analogy cannot be lost on us.

My prayer today is twofold; one, that we would recognize the grave seriousness of our present condition, and two; that we would recognize the only remedy for our brokenness is God Almighty.

Have a blessed day,

How to survive when your world falls apart

You’ve been there, haven’t you? You’ve carefully planned things out down to the smallest detail. You’ve selected the career path that you believe will bring you security for theplan rest of your life. You have researched and chosen the best school to receive your education.

Looking even further ahead, you begin to envision the man or woman of your dreams. You see the two of you dancing through life, living in a comfortable home where your children can grow up safe and content.

A fairy tale existence;isn’t that what we all plan for, what we all dream about?

That is until the harsh realities of life begin to chip away at our hopes, our dreams, our best laid plans. Suddenly, what was once sunshine and rainbows gives way to the raging storms of divorce, sickness, abuse,or worse.shattered-dreams

Some of you have been there. Are there now.

Your world has fallen apart, and no amount of pleading, begging,or deal making can restore what was. Where do you turn when you’re out of options?

I’ve been there. I have survived abandonment.I’ve made it through the gut wrenching agony of a divorce I did not choose to be a part of. I know what it feels like to be left for dead on the side of the road,to be made to feel as though you have no worth. I understand completely how debilitating and life altering divorce can be to every person it touches.

I have been to the brink. To that place from which many never return, that place where death seems a welcome relief from the agonizing pain of losing everything you once held dear. Having lost family, home, and in the eyes of denominational Christianity my ministry,I am well acquainted with loss.

Beloved, when you have lost it all, when there are no options and no help to be found, life no longer seems worth living.Such is the reality of hopelessness. It is the embodiment of the scripture that says the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy(John 10:10).

Ah,but there is hope after all! I know because I’m living proof!hope

Those plans you made? The dreams you had? They might all be a distant memory by now. Many of MY plans have failed.A great many of MY hopes and dreams have been shattered. Those were MY plans and MY dreams.

The purpose of the Lord however, stands eternal.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Proverbs 19:21   ESV

God has a plan for you. God has big plans for you. A purpose. Thoughts of good,to give you a great finish to this life you live. And his plan for your life supersedes everything else you have already endured or may be enduring at this moment. When you get right down to it,His plans,His purpose, trump all of your heartaches.

When your world crumbles all around you,as it surely will at some point in this life, what’s your survival plan? If you don’t have one,may I suggest one for you?

I would lay hold of the promises of God. Of the One whose purpose stands forever. Lets face it, nothing we can come up with on our own is better than the plans God has for our lives. Why not place our hopes and dreams in His hands?

I can tell you this,it works. When we make Him priority “A” in our lives instead of “plan B”,we may still go through seemingly insurmountable difficulties. The difference is that we are not walking through them alone. We are walking through them with the One whose purpose will stand.

Now that’s what I call a survival plan!
