It never ceases to amaze me…

Have you ever noticed how that certain topics will stir the masses to action while other, equally important topics barely draw a whimper?

Consider for example the President. Any time his name is mentioned one of two things is sure to happen.

  1. His followers will defend his actions no matter how questionable
  2. His detractors will demonize his actions no matter how beneficial

Love him or hate him, very few remain on the fence about him.

And so it is with any number of controversial topics, people, or subjects. Everyone has an opinion, and most are only too willing to share theirs with the world. Except for one distinct group of people, that is.

It seems that the only group that remains consistently silent in the face of controversy are those who call themselves Christians.

As sheep being led to the shearer, we Christians have a peculiar propensity to remain mostly mute, content to watch from the sidelines while the spirit of AntiChrist marches towards ultimately criminalizing Christianity in America.

Think about that statement for just a moment.

  • It is the Church that is supposed to be Christ’s representative on the earth.
  • It is the Church that has been charged with leading men out of darkness into the light.
  • It is the Church that is supposed to be leading by example in all areas of spirituality and morality.

In other words, the Church is supposed to be heard from!

Yet it never ceases to amaze me that when the Church needs to rise to the occasion, it is as if someone pushes a ginormous MUTE button and she remains silent.

So it is with the recent House of Representatives “Equality Act“. This bill, which passed by a margin of 236-173, is one of those that if it ever becomes law will forever change the way that you live in America.

Simply put, this “Act” makes no allowance for communities or individuals of faith who hold traditional views of marriage and gender. In other words, if you hold to a Biblical viewpoint, you will find yourself on the wrong side of the law.

Personally, I absolutely believe this bill we eventually become the law of the land because once those who currently oppose of it are disposed of, there will be no stopping it.

If by some chance you have never heard of this legislation, you owe it to yourself and your family to read it. You need to know what is coming and the impact it will have upon your life, because life as you now know it will be over.

For a “plain English” summary, simply Google “Equality Act and the Church” and you will find all you care to digest on the matter. The link above will take you to the first post in the search engine.

I have searched for an official response from the Church to this atrocity of legislation but other than a few comments from fringe denominations such as the Seventh Day Adventist church and the LDS, I haven’t found much from mainline Christianity

Which in itself is an abomination.

It never ceases to amaze me how legislation that is diametrically opposed to all things “Godly” can be proposed, and the Church will step aside and allow it to become law without any resistance.

Then again, we’ve seen this movie played out before, time and time again. The tens of millions of lives destroyed by the likes of Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Kim Jong Un, and more recently Saddam Hussein all took place with barely any organized resistance from the Church.

How any rational person can remain oblivious to the fact that the Church is in an epic battle with “spiritual wickedness in high places” is quite simply beyond me. [1]

All that is left is for individual Christians to pray and seek the face of God. Pray for the strength to stand in the face of the severe trials that are surely coming upon this nation. Pray that we will be given the grace to to hold fast to our convictions, no matter the personal cost we must endure.

Either 100% of God’s word is true, or none of it is!

Think about that statement for a moment. Christians believe that the Bible is God’s inerrant Word given unto man. It is a collection of sixty six books, written and compiled by various authors over the span of nearly 1500 years, from 1400 BC to A.D. 90 (approximately).

While there are many detractors who maintain that the Bible is a made up fictional tale and thus not inspired of God, the truth is that there are many Biblical facts that have been proven beyond all doubt.

Perhaps more importantly, especially to the sceptics and non-believers, is that the Bible has never been proven factually wrong. Ever. It is a book of truth, divinely revealed by God to all men.

Paul the Apostle declared that God cannot lie, and if this statement is true, then God’s word is 100% accurate. [1]

Likewise, as we search through the Scriptures we are confronted time and again with the statement that God cannot or will not lie. [2]

All of which brings me to the subject of why American Christians have such a hard time believing that every word in the Scriptures is 100% true. This is never more apparent than when confronted with truths that somehow conflict with their vision of “how things are supposed to be”.

For example; the Scripture is very clear that at some point in the future (whether near or far away is not the pont), the entire world will be under the sole authority of one ruler, who is called the antichrist. This is confirmed by Daniel, Paul, and even Jesus in the Revelation. [3]

Yet in spite of overwhelming and irrefutable Scriptural evidence of this future one world dictatorial government, many American Christians emphatically believe that America will never capitulate.

In other words, they believe that good ol’ American Nationalism will prevail, and that Old Glory will continue to wave irregardless of the rest of the nations coming under the authoritarian rule of the antichrist.

American Nationalism, as most of you know, is the widely held belief that we are better than everyone else, and that our goals, principles, and ideals are superior to everyone else’s. [4]

As a Christian, I believe the Bible is clear in its teaching that all of us are to live according to God’s word. Jesus even said as much when he told Satan that “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word which proceeds from God”. [5]

What that means is if we are going to call ourselves Christians, then we must live ‘by and according to’ the word of God. This means 100% of God’s word.

We cannot pluck out the sections that do not align themselves with our political ideology or cause. We’re either all in or we’re not, in which case we’re out.

Whether we like a particular subject of the Bible or not is irrelevant. Whether or not we think certain scriptures apply to us or not is also irrelevant.

The fact of the matter is that the Bible was not written by holy men of God under the guise of each of us getting to pick out only those parts we agree with. If we are Christians, we come under the authority of every word. One hundred percent of the time.

The entire world is running headlong toward a one world government and ruler, a fact confirmed by none other than the United Nations, who recently issued a document entitled “Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

This document serves as an outline for how to achieve a one world government, and I highly recommend that students of the Bible take a close look at it.

Wishing and hoping it were not so does not change this fact. This is the direction the world is rapidly moving towards. The course has been chartered, and it is inevitable that some form of it will come to fruition simply because the Bible declares it to be so.

No amount of wishing for a return to the “good old days” will make that come to pass. Those of us who love to relish those carefree days of long ago must do so with the understanding that those days will never return.

Those well-meaning Christians who staunchly maintain that America is God’s chosen nation and thus deserving of advantages and blessings no other nation has, are, quite honestly, deceived.

I believe it’s high time that all of God’s children come to a level of maturity in Him where we accept His word and His will for our lives without reservation. No more wavering, no more doubting, no more wishing we can go back.

Let’s acknowledge instead that His direction is best for us.

Nationalistic pride aside, either 100% of God’s word is true, or none of it is. I’m staking my life on the former. How about you?

Be blessed on this Lord’s day!

For over six decades I have enjoyed the incredible wealth and prosperity this country has provided, and I am humbled by what God has given this nation.

Yet for all of that, I do not consider myself or my country to be any better than any individual or any other country. In spite of the political rhetoric that says otherwise, we are no better or no more worthy of God’s favor than any other nation.

The Beast has been unleashed

On December 31st, 2018, the Rev. Justin Hoke, pastor of Trinity Bible Presbyterian Church in Weed, California, posted the following on the church’s outdoor sign. [1]

113fb3f1-ebf0-4e5e-a8de-2bfed70ef050

Unfortunately for Rev. Hoke, LGBT activists descended upon the church last Sunday, claiming the sign was “hateful.” Later, these activists vandalized the church sign. Far worse than that however was the shameful lack of support this pastor received from his congregation. Persecution is to be expected whenever one takes a stand for Godly principles, being abandoned by one’s congregation, however, is not. [2]

In light of that sad state of affairs, the Rev. Hoke was forced to write the following on his Facebook page a few days ago:

“As of today, I am no longer the pastor of Trinity Bible Presbyterian Church.

After much prayer and counsel, I have decided that it is best to briefly communicate what has taken place.

1. I was informed by our other elder that he felt he could no longer follow my lead as Pastor of TBPC.
2. I was informed that essentially all but one couple in membership would leave the church if I continued as pastor of TBPC.
3. Our other elder and the couple felt that those who left would likely return if I would leave.
4. Our other elder was agreeable to stay and assume the pastoral responsibilities.

Therefore it was determined that it would be in the best interest of the local body for us (TBPC and the Hoke family) to part ways.”

So what we have here is a minister of the Gospel who stated three irrefutable,Biblical truths on his church sign.

  1. Bruce Jenner is still a man
  2. Homosexuality is still sin
  3. God’s Word does not change, even if the culture does

Incredibly, his entire congregation (save one family) decided that it was better to side with the LGBT activists than their own pastor, and left the church. Rather than standing firm upon the truths of God’s word, this congregation bowed their knees to Baal, soundly rejecting God, His word, and their pastor. Instead of supporting their pastor and his family by upholding these truths, they took the cowards way out by throwing him under the bus.

The fact that this could even happen is evidence that the spirit of antiChrist, which has always been present (though largely kept under wraps), has been unleashed upon America and is no longer being restrained. This should serve as a warning to all Christian leaders that the freedom to declare the whole counsel of God is now a part of America’s past. [3]

Indeed, the Beast has been unleashed!

This is only the beginning of course. Don’t want to support an unholy agenda by baking a cake for a homosexual couple? Then you will be shut down so you can’t bake a cake for anyone. Soon, these events will become commonplace, hardly raising an eyebrow.

It isn’t too far on the horizon when the Devil’s advocates will sit in the sanctuary, secretly recording a gospel message, carefully listening for anything they can remotely twist into “hate speech” so they can call in their ‘activists’ and destroy more pastors and their congregations.

What these so called ‘activists’ are willingly ignorant of however is that these same tactics have long been employed by ruthless regimes of every type in order to weed out the “subversives” who seek to overthrow the government by their “heinous deeds” of worshiping God. The only difference between them and groups such as LGBT and others like them is that the latter have managed to garner the support of the liberal elite in both Hollywood and Washington D.C.

Thus, they wield an unprecedented level of power to destroy the family and as much as possible whatever is Godly by ascribing the words “hateful” and hate speech” to all who dare oppose them.

But let’s be honest here, shall we? Was it the sign itself that caused such an explosion of anger and hate from the LGBT activists, or is something else the cause of their outburst? Was seeing words that refute their lifestyle and their agenda really what triggered this explosion of hate from them?

Of course not! What so enraged these people was the fact that someone would dare condemn their chosen lifestyle.  What really happened here was these LGBT activists were making a statement. And that statement was that no one, not even God Almighty himself can tell them how to live their lives. This was all about spiritual rebellion against the authority of God to govern our lives according to His divine mandate.

This outburst is just the latest in what has become a predictable pattern by those who oppose God. Oh, to be sure the methods have changed, as have the players in the game. New strategies are being developed almost daily in order to destroy the family as God created it. Rest assured however, that the chief engineer behind these activities is Satan himself.

There really is nothing new about all of this. As a matter of fact, it’s been going on since Satan first appeared to Eve in the garden when he coerced her and Adam into disobeying the command of their Creator. It’s the same mindset today, only instead of cunning, stealth, and deception, Satan now uses an “in your face” attack designed to intimidate God’s people into surrendering without a fight. [4]

Those who are wise understand where all of this is headed. The ‘children of light’ understand that these are the beginning days of the time when the adversary would unleash his power against all that is called Godly, thus causing many to lose their faith. [5]

Rather than cower in fear at those who oppose God and all that is Godly, our assignment is to pray for those who persecute and seek to harm us. Jesus teaches us that our weapon of choice must be love. We are not to return hate for hate, but must rise above the hate from those who oppose God. [6]

Be blessed, and pray without ceasing!

Where is the Lord God of Elijah Today?

Thinking of the Old Testament prophets, their ministries, their successes and failures has me wondering why we don’t see God show up today like He did back then.In light of the fact that (a) God never changes(Malachi 3:6) and (b) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever(Heb 13:8),it seems reasonable to ponder these things.

I have heard it preached and taught that God just doesn’t move like that today. That God has a new covenant with us through His Son Jesus.

While I agree with that,it still doesn’t explain why we don’t see God moving in the powerful ways like we read about in His Word. Here is just one example.

From the Old Testament book of II Kings, chapter two,we read where the successor to the prophet Elijah,in this case a man named Elisha, takes the mantle,or cloak that fell from Elijah and smacks it upon the Jordan River.
No doubt expecting something miraculous he utters the quote “where is the Lord God of Elijah“?(II Kings 2:14),at which time the waters of the Jordan dried up and Elisha was able to pass over on dry land.We thus see that the prophetic ministry of Elijah was passed on to Elisha.

Now,given what I’ve already stated about God never changing, suppose we turn Elisha’s question around to read like this:”Where Are God’s Elijah’s Today”? If in fact we serve a God that changes not, it stands to reason that His power has not diminished with the passing of time.

So we can assume that God is still God,and that as God He can still do what He did hundreds or thousands of years ago.The reason then that we don’t see God performing the miraculous must lie elsewhere.

Of course,if you are a cessationist you believe that all miracles stopped long ago. That those things only happened for our admonition and pertained to the apostolic,or early church era.I do not share that view but believe that God was performing the miraculous long before there was a church, and it is His desire to do so today.

It is my contention however that the “Elijah’s of God”in our time have been derelict in their duties, resulting in a famine of the miraculous.Tough words indeed, and they hit home with me as well.

For certain, the word “miracle” is thrown around a lot today.Nearly every gospel crusade or event proclaims the presence of miracles.Just last night I listened to a man telling of the

incredible miracles taking place in Africa. They weren’t shown mind you, just talked about.

My minister brethren cringe when I say this, but I’ll go out on a limb here and say that 99.9% of Christians alive today have never seen a complete, instantaneous physical healing.

This must be one of the great tragedies of our time!

Many will take this lack of physical evidence and use it to make their case for cessasionism, however this reasoning is a scapegoat for our own lack of faith and is indicative of a culture of unbelief in our churches.

Far from being finished with performing the miraculous,I am of the persuasion that God still desires to work through His Church to do those things that only He can do.Perhaps a stumbling block to this is that we want the credit? Just a thought.

Over 2100 years ago God used another prophet to speak to the nations, specifically to this generation. This prophet’s name was Daniel, whom you may remember as being thrown into a den of hungry lions for refusing to bow to an ungodly decree.

This same Daniel had a message for the Church of our day that should cause all of us to think about whether or not the miraculous has ceased. This message is found in the book of Daniel, chapter eleven.

Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.  Daniel 11:32 NKJV

Daniel looked into the future and saw the Antichrist deceiving the people of earth.More importantly,he also saw God’s people as strong and doing great exploits. In other words,if you believe as I do that we are living in the last days before the return of Christ,we are to expect God to show up through His people(the Church) and do the miraculous.

I must admit that I do not know when God’s Elijah’s will show up on the scene.I believe many of them are alive today, perhaps waiting for the clarion call from on High to go forth. One thing I do know is this:when they show up and begin to do exploits, we will not have to wonder if they are real.

Maybe YOU are one of God’s Elijah’s.Perhaps something is stirring deep within your soul that is calling you, drawing you to a closer walk with the Lord.If so,I pray that you heed His call and begin to prepare yourself.

God is still God.In the past He always did what He said He would do.

I am expecting Him to continue this pattern. After all,He hasn’t changed.
