Today is Tuesday,November the 8th,and as I begin writing this post it is 5:18 AM.

Most of America is probably asleep at this early hour.I hear a slight stirring in my neighborhood as a couple of cars drive by,while a few houses from me a dog is barking.

By now we have hopefully been subjected to the last of the political attack ads,as everyone is surely weary from the negative onslaught of our senses. I think most would agree with me when I say what we have just witnessed is shameful and pathetic. This public display of “Americas best” has brought shame and ridicule upon us from even the worst of the worst across the globe, and all of us are due an apology for this exhibition of classlessness.

Yet with God,who holds time and eternity in His hand,we are reminded that it’s just another day. The apostle Peter gives us a unique insight into this as he describes how God views time:

“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2nd Peter  3:8   NKJV

The Eternal One does not mark days, times, and events as we do. Election days do not scare Him,nor is God somewhere afar wringing His hands in angst at the prospects of a Clinton or Trump presidency.

No,for God it’s just another day.

And to respond to the countless calls that “we must pray the the Lord’s will be done in this election” I will say this: it cannot be any other way. No matter if your candidate wins or not,it is God who still rules in the affairs of men. To think that if your candidate loses God is somehow no longer in control reveals a very shallow understanding of the power and authority of Almighty God.

“God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.”.  Psalms‬ ‭47:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“By me kings reign, And rulers decree justice.”.  Proverbs‬ ‭8:15‬ ‭NKJV

God is still in control.

I believe this election will be remembered as one that gave America exactly what she has yearned for,and therefore deserves. Collectively as a nation we have long thumbed our noses at God in our attempts to remove all traces of Him from society, and if history has taught us anything it is that such actions demand payment in full of the impending consequences.

Bit by bit, over the past several decades there has been a concerted, sublime effort in America to disavow our knowledge of and dependence upon God. From the classroom to the courtroom, from our homes to our workplaces,God is being systematically eliminated from our conscious.

Whether from something as simple as removing a manger scene from the local courthouse lawn at Christmas,to something as heinous as ripping apart the unborn from the womb,we have all played our part in this unfolding story of the demise of the greatest nation ever assembled under heaven.

Our new president will no doubt work tirelessly to ensure this trend continues unabated. For you see, America must play catch up to the rest of the world in the march toward the one world government that is just over the horizon. For that to happen,God must be removed from the collective consciousness of this nation. Only then can this nation stand with the rest of the world in its acceptance of the global leader which is to come. This is our payment for the path we have chosen.

Yet for all of this,I personally do not fear the future nor the changes that are surely to come. I do not welcome them, but because of the hope I have in Christ, neither do I fear them. I do however mourn for my children and grandchildren because they are inheriting a society largely ignorant of the blessings all of us have enjoyed for so long. Perhaps they will read about them in a history book some day.

As Christians we must continue to hold fast to what we know to be Truth. We have no other choices.God is our strength,a very present help in time of trouble. He alone will sustain us and guide us through this impending darkness. Just like He always has. Even on election days.

After all,it’s just another day.
