What Can Separate Us?

Did you know that if you are a Christian there exists between you and Christ an inseparable bond? I’ve often thought about this “connection” that binds us together.Being human, with all of our weaknesses and frailties,we sometimes question whether or not we are going to make it through victoriously when faced with life’s many obstacles.Yet in our weakest moments, when we feel our back is against the proverbial wall, there is this “bond” that keeps us tethered to the One who will never cast us aside.

After Jesus ascended back to the Father His disciples were charged with going into all the world to make disciples of all men. In other words they were charged with evangelizing the world for Christ. This came at a terrible cost as all but one of the disciples were persecuted to death for their faithful witness of the Truth.

The apostle Paul was severely persecuted as well. Read with me as he describes some of what he suffered:

2 Corinthians 11:24-28 (NKJV)
24 From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.
25 Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—
28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.

This great man of God knew that whatever he suffered for Christ it would be worth it in the end.He had found a bond with Christ that could never be broken.Beatings, famine, whippings,no matter the level of torture, Paul understood the secret to enduring was the fact that he was in Christ and Christ was in him! Praise be to God!

One of the most beautiful writings in all of the New Testament is where Paul talks about what it might take to separate him from Christ.I’m sure many of you can quote this from memory;

Romans 8:35-39 (NKJV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Beloved, the next time you’re overwhelmed and to the point of giving up, please think on these things. You can make it.You can overcome because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.Victory is yours if you will keep your eyes on Him who can keep you safe and secure through every fiery trial. You are bound to Him with cords that cannot be broken, indeed:you are His!

Be blessed,

Ron

How Big Is God?

Well, hopefully I’ve finally tracked down the source of my computer problems and am back in the saddle again unless yet another issue crops up!

Have you ever faced a challenge or difficulty that you just couldn’t seem to get past? We’ve probably all been there a time or two and our experiences only increase our faith for the long haul.

Many times while going through dark places and wondering where God was or when He was going to show up we are tempted to wonder whether our particular situation just might be beyond even what God can handle. But take heart, for our God is an awesome God!

In Jeremiah 32:27 the Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

In any situation we find ourselves in, God is exceedingly and abundantly able. He is a very present help in the time of trouble, and there is nothing too hard for Him! Many of us could write a book detailing one victory after another that God has wrought on our behalf. We prove Him every day and of His wonders there is no end.

How big is God?

As BIG as you need Him to be!

Be blessed,

Ron

Before You Leave This Life

Before you leave this life, what is the single most important thing you must do? That’s a monster of a question isn’t it? I imagine if I took a survey of 100 people I’d probably get 100 different answers to this question.Obviously, what’s important to one isn’t necessarily important to another. So many things go into making such an important decision; things like the culture you were raised in, religious training, family background, your life situation, etc…

The question of what is the most important thing you must do before leaving this life speaks to things eternal, for we are here for a very short time.

James 4:14 (NKJV)
Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Many of us believe we have a long life ahead of us,while there are others among us who feel they are invincible and will never feel the effects of age or disease. The truth is that even if we live to be 120 years old that amount of time is but a vapor when compared to eternity.Actually, none of us are promised a tomorrow! We are here for such a short time so what should we do with this knowledge?

Here’s the cold, hard truth…every last one of us is going to taste death at some point in time.Even if we are alive when Christ returns this mortal body must be transformed into one that will not decay.Listen to what the writer of Hebrews had to say about the subject:

Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

Our lives as we know them now will one day end but the day and the hour no man can tell.We will stand before a Holy God to give account for the life we have lived here on earth.Armed with this understanding,Before you leave this life, what is the single most important thing you must do?

We must prepare for the life to come! That’s the answer!!We must ask the Lord to forgive us of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. If we fail to do this, nothing else matters. Our lives have been for naught if we fail to accept Christ. No matter what we manage to accomplish,no matter the great deeds we have done,it won’t matter if our name is known in the highest levels of society.

If we dare to leave this life without Jesus,we are destined to spend eternity separated from God and our loved ones who did accept Him.

Before you leave this life….won’t you repent of all sin?Make your preparations today!

Be blessed,

Ron

Where Have The Watchmen of God Gone?

A Watchman.Someone who watches over something valuable or important.A person who feels a personal responsibility to “cry out” while on his watch. There was a time when watchmen were considered an invaluable part of a city’s defense system for they were the first to sound the alarm.

Ezekiel was such a man.He was given a divine mandate to not only hear from the Lord but also to deliver the word to Israel.

“So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”     Eze 33:7

Ezekiel was a man of God.It was he who responded to the Lord with “send me” when the Lord looked for a man to declare His word to the nations.

Fast forward to today and ask yourself this: where are those who have been called out to be the watchmen over the church? Where are those who have been given the divine mandate to sound the alarm at the first sight of trouble? Where are those who love the church more than they love their position or the applause of men?

Friends, we are living in an age where men no longer have the courage to stand in their pulpits and declare the whole counsel of God.Instead they deliver insipid stories of how God is only interested in your personal wealth and health, all the while ignoring the sin that has a stranglehold upon us.Hirelings who have no power other than the power of persuasion to get you to give your money to them.

How is it that the wolves have free and unfettered access to the sheep? Is there no one left to sound the alarm,to declare that enough is enough?

To boldly take a stand for the truth regardless of the cost to life and position, will no one say “send me”?

Where have the watchmen of God gone?

Be blessed, and pray that the watchmen will once again arise and take their positions.

A Nation Who Forgets God

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the direction our nation is going in relation to what the Scriptures teach concerning the last days.We in America are burdened with a staggering debt the likes of which the world has never seen. A debt so massive that it can never be repaid, yet there seems to be no cry of urgency to curb spending and live within our means.Like a plague of biblical proportions this debt hangs over us and each succeeding generation will be enslaved by it.

Evil is rampant in our nation. From the penthouse to the outhouse there seems to be no end to what man is capable of doing to each other. We are bombarded with all manner of despicable news on an unparallelled magnitude to the point that we are not even fazed by it any longer. When was the last time you heard something on the evening news that stopped you in your tracks?

What has happened to us? How on earth did we get this way? The answers are found within the pages of God’s Holy Word.

John 3:19 (NKJV)
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.   emphasis mine

God has sent unto us a better way through His Son Jesus Christ, yet just as the verse above states man has chosen darkness over light.Because of this choice,we are reaping the consequences of those choices. The bible warns us plainly here:

Galatians 6:7 (KJV)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

We have bought the great lie of Satan that we can chart our own destiny for we are beyond the need for God.We have believed the lie that we are in charge and not God.

Psalm 53:1 (NKJV)
The fool has said in his heart,“There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good.

Only a fool would say there is no God.Yet that is exactly what we are saying when we declare our independence from the Lord.

From where I sit on the front row,our nation has headed down a slippery slope and we are playing with fire. Our hardness of heart and unwillingness to repent and turn again unto the Lord have brought us to the brink of destruction. We in America are facing insurmountable challenges without God as our Leader.

Please join with me in praying for our nation that we as a people will once again look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith for the answers we so desperately need.

Be blessed,

Ron
